What We Do
At Discovering Freedom, we talk about social issues so that they aren’t scary anymore. Our conversations are for everyone, regardless of background knowledge, bias, or political affiliation. We connect people so that we all have the freedom to get along with our neighbors and family members without fear or judgment. We believe everyone has more in common than we think and that we are stronger than the things that divide us. All Wisconsinites can unify over our shared values of truth, safety, and freedom.

Talking about transgender people can seem especially confusing, and it can make a lot of good folks disagree and feel divided. For this reason, a lot of people don’t want to talk about this topic, and it becomes the elephant in the room— sometimes even the elephant in the family. Our completely free method focuses on keeping it simple, normal, and human through our three pronged approach:

Discovering Freedom is ready to speak to your community! All of our presentations are completely FREE. We will present anywhere in Wisconsin at no cost to you. Our Pen Pal Program allows you to chat with a transgender person by using email, snail-mail, or whatever method is most convenient for you.
